Second annual Portland Brew Race

Portland, Maine and its surrounding communities is home to some of the best craft beer in the country. As such, it was a perfect stop on our nationwide Craft Brew Race tour. On Saturday, June 27, hundreds of runners, joggers, and walkers lined up for a relaxed 5k around the city’s scenic Back Cove. Participants enjoyed a waterfront course with views of the city skyline before before receiving their custom Craft Brew Race finishers medal.

Following the road race, it was all smiles as finishers streamed into a full-fledged craft beer event featuring 35 breweries, including 25 breweries from Maine. Live music was provided by local artist (and sudden celebrity) Jeff Beam and fans dug into food from MANE Catering on a festive and sunny Saturday.

Photos of the event can be seen here, and Maine Today was on hand to capture some fine photos of their own. All in all, the event generated a donation of $3,000 to the Maine Brewers’ Guild. Cheers all the way around!
